*** It depends on your definition of what God is.
I personally believe that when mankind evolved and finally reached awareness as in Decarte's, 'I think therefore I am' paradigm they naturally became aware of their mortality. That awareness created fear which created religion. God is a psychological crutch the human animal has invented to enable us to be aware and function at the same time. The same pattern can be seen today with the new high priest being scientists calling their God the 'Big Bang theory.'

All the world's religions were created by men, unfortunately not women, and they allowed us to psychologically function and live in society.
All socities created their own Gods to suit their own needs.
Our ancestors the Assyrians created a mighty God that was accepting of all other Gods, cultures, beliefs and peoples throughout the Middle East. Ashur allowed us to create cities, science, mathematics, art etc while the Anglo-Saxons were swinging from trees.

Meanwhile the Jews also invented their non-inclusive rascist God, yawheh.com who saw fit to kill every single man, woman, child and goldfish of the Cannanites so that his "chosen" people could build condos in Israel.

Now if I must choose a label to apply to the unknown force of the Universe then I choose to call it(him) Ashur. That doesn;t mean I'm going to burn incense and pray to him. That simply means I'm going to follow in his example and be inclusive all religions, peoples and cultures.

My God does not have an inferiority complex and does not mind if you worship your Jewish yawheh.com. But he does object to you placing the letters, yoot-heh indicating yawheh.com on a Jewish book and pay your priests to read Psalm 137:8-9 to our people at church then top it off by claiming to be Assyrian.

"Forgive them Ashur they know not what they do."
