I guess there`s just no way to convince Afro-Americans that being raped into Christianity is going to skew your sense of self forever..if you`re still hopping around and praising the lord for the rape. If you try to talk to them about their own culture and religions they`ll take the white rapist`s side and deride their own ways as having been mistaken and wrong and savage...this from Blacks who`ve suffered every outrage imagineable at the hands of white Christians. Clearly no African came to Europe or the New World willingly on his or her own...and neither did they come willingly to Jesus. They were torn from their own culture and time and forced to adopt the white slaver`s ways and his religion...forced also to stop speaking their own language and practicing their own customs...till today they too will tell you that African culture in America is the "same thing" as Black-Slave CHRISTIAN culture. They too will tell you they`re so relieved not be Africans any longer. Our boys do the same thing...insist that Christian culture is the same thing or as good as if not better than any Assyrian, pagan, savage, ignorant culture they had. We see in African adaptations of Christianity echoes of their own long forgotten rituals...variations subtley attached to mainstream Christianity to allow them to save a little of what they once had and don`t remember. In the same way Assyrians who were raped into Christ attached to the religion forced upon them, distant memories of their own religion and ceremonies. That`s why they`re able to say, in all seriousness, that Christinity is "close" to Ashurism anyway...it`s pnly "close" because they brought to it elements of their own religion..as an act of defiance and to keep a bit of their own ways. The part of the resurrection of Jesus and the role of Mary Tiglath has already outlined . This was nothing more than Tammuz and Isthar. The Romans, who made Christianity what it is today had these elements from the Greeks as well, who may well have gotten them from us to begin with. If you aren`t weepingly gratefull to the Romans for destroying Assyrian culture you`ll see how much all those bastards stole from us. Professor Emmanuel Velikofsky in his brilliant book, "Moses and Ikhnaton"...shows that the story on which the play Oedipus is based really on the tale of the Egyptian heretic Akhenaton...only set in Greece. This business of eating a god is almost Orphic in origin...so that this element is older than Rome. What the Romans installed into their State religion...was obedience to the emperor...to grant to Caesar what was his..which was everything of any importance on earth...allowing the damn fool Christians to await their turn after they died...driven to death the more quickly through providing those same goodies they were to do without. You`d have expected Christ to say SOMETHING about a system that enslaved people round the world and worked them to death to benefit a few...and he may well have..only they weren`t about to repeat it. It was a brilliant tactic for social control that gave the empire a new lease on life...allowing it to emerge from the days of the mad emperors and get born again in Byzantium from where they went on raping and killing at the old stand and would have extended their bloody sway and their auto da fes all the way to the Arabian peninsula had not Muhammad come along to stop them and separate the the petty ass Christian denominations who were splitting heads and fine points over Christ even back then...and of course go on to spread the light of BetNahrain all over the world. The Assyrians forced into Christianity like the Africans and so many others...installed what they could into the rituals...sneaking in their own religion of Ashur and Isthar wherever possible...snuck it past the Roman army and its priests and evangelical bastards as much as they could...for which th3y got labelled heretics by the Roman Empire anyway..and thereby hangs another tale. Point is...as long as Christians refuse to acknowledge the truth about how they came to "embrace" this bloody religion...and come to grips with what it has cost them, they...like the Afro-Americans...will wander the earth bereft of their souls...trying with all their might to make a gift of a crime. If you`re that fucked up and loving it..you produce the kinds of heroes we do. --------------------- |
