THe argument about keeping abortion legal, at least until social programs are improved drastically, is that women in difficult conditions will continue to seek out abortions, even if they are illegal. Banning abortion will increase the risk of death and/or horrible complications for the women who have illegal abortions because they will be getting questionable services from the people performing the abortions on them.

Also, if GS is so against abortions, maybe he should consider the fact that war increases spontaneous abortions in female populations undergoing the traumatic experience of bombings, random killings, etc. Why doesn't he care about those fetuses that are killed by war?
