...it`s about time to step back a little and recall that there can be no proof to any claimed miracles by anyone...you either believe or you don`t. You can only examine those parts that might have some independent corroboration. If I come say there is a banana tree growing over that hill...you won`t ask for proof...as long as it`s plausible that the tree could grow in the climate etc. If I come tell you a banana tree over the hill has tennis shoes in place of bananas growing on it, you`d be well within your mind to ask for some proof of a claim that goes contrary to all knowledge and experience. If you told me 200 years ago men would walk on the moon...I would be justified in laughing...but NOT in stating that it never could happen...not if I was familiar with how far we had evolved....if you come tell me there`s a banana tree growing tennis shoes and SHOW me...I`ll believe it...but if you tell the tree spoke to you..and it told you tell me to believe you or I go to hell...I`d tell YOU to go to hell..you and your talking banana tree.

God is just such a talking banana...and I don`t buy any og it. There is independent corroboration that Jesus existed...outside of church nonsense...there is also evidence for the CLAIMS made about him by his followes...and that`s as far as it goes...the rest of it is myth, conjecture, a lot of wishing and an overl desperation to believe in fantastic things so maybe they will happen to YOU. But none of it is proof...there is no evidence for any of it..and citing the number of times it was written about is still not proof.

A sane person asks for some evidence when your claims stand the world on its head---especially if YOU didn`t see the thing yourself but were willing to take your miracles second hand and 10,000 times removed.....with that kind of sane person you discuss miracles and bananas and shoes and hills and the liklihood of flying to the moon...but the person who insists you MUST believe a banana tree spoke to him...is someone to welcome on your forum...but not to take seriously.

But how you gonna get them to drop their shorts if you don`t humor them? Tiglath has more patience than I do...he`s also more diaboloical...he sets them up over a longer period of time...bides his time..plans his moves...allows them the outburst of joy here and there when they post a particularly pleasing bit of nonsense...the smug self-congratulations...and THEN he zings them...after which they pull it together and, bless them, walk right into it AGAIN.

The things they call historical proof are merely the number of times some church person said something stupid...that they believe it strikes them as all the proof anyone needs. What can you say to that? Of course their church says what pleases them and has for 2000 years...and in all that time they`ve accepted it all as "historical"...so when I ask for proof...they hunt up the time the guy said a banana tree talked to him and actually stand back glowing with their formidable scholarship...like I said, what do you say to people put together this way?

Well...I say...keep it up!
