Cronkite Calls CBS Report 'Embarrassing'
(AP) - Former CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite called the network's report questioning President Bush's Vietnam-era National Guard service "embarrassing" but urged patience until an investigation is complete. "We must wait while CBS management conduct the investigation they have promised. We can then decide what our reaction should be," said Cronkite, 87, who was in Boston on Thursday night to receive an award..."

...I can`t help but think, "was this a plant"? I mean the media has hardly been "hard hitting" all this time...and why now would CBS run with a story it later admits might have been questionable. They`ve hardly been eager and then careless in their attempts to uncover the many lies of Bush...what`s the end result?

..it would seem to me that much harder in the time left before the election, to get ANY story critical of Bush that claimed to have a FACTUAL basis...printed or believed. All media could now cite CBS`s "embarrassment" as a reason to hold off until a more "thorough" investigation into allegations can be conducted..in the national interest and in the interest of FAIRNESS...plus which this gives excellent ammunition for the charge of a biased or "liberal" media...when there isn`t even a good one.

Coming from THIS press...regarding THIS president with all of HIS lies...especially when you consider that it seems to make no difference that we know the inmate is innocent..we`re going to execute her ANYWAY, can`t help but make you paranoid right along with everyone else...when you allow that many lies to flourish...you create an untrustworthy environment..and Bush is now home free as far as any further "reports" about the millitary commander in cheat who went AWOL.
