>They wouldn't have to think that way if they didn't always try to seperate themselves from the whole, would they now?.

..my point was that it is the boys who are the extremists...what Chaldeans want seems very reasonable to me...they want to be a PART of Iraq...keeping their ethnicity a private affair...not making a public display of it in such embarrassing ways. The boys have separated THEMSELVES from civil society...look at what Ivan The Terrible writes to congress and what the Chaldeans do with politicians...the influence they have...over small thing perhaap...as a starting point...but their influence and power base will grow...it would be an EMBARRASSMENT to take Kakovitch along to one of their affairs for a governor or senator.

They were the ones that approached the Assyrian political and religious leaders to lump themselves in,

...because they are more politically astute and realize the advantage of strength in numbers...Chaldeans are all of ONE Christian sect...they already know the power of unity whereas Assyrians are divided into a hundred sects and factions each of them defining "unity" as everyone else must join ME.

and later came up with all sorts of strategies to divide this nation,

...NO ONE divides this hodge podge of sects more than THEY do...they did it once when they split off into Christians...then they divided over trifles into Monophysites and Nestorians...then the Europeans came with candy and shiney objects, trinkets and beads and they split off into Prebyterians, Lutherans, Anglicans, Baptists, Protestants, Pentacostals, Seventh Day Adventists, Baptists, Mormons, Jehova's Witnesses, to name a few...who has divided these turkeys MORE than they have themselves? And you want to blame Chaldeans for dividing them?

going as far as using their wealth to manipulate Assyrians into changing their name to Catholic Assyrians. If you're going to criticize, be fair!

...if someone holds out candy to you and you "betray" your parents...am I only to blame those who offered you candy? How accustomed these "Assyrians" have become to seeking whatever goodies they can get...and be a little specific..how exactly did they use wealth to trick "Assyrians"?

>"...Let the Christians of Iraq agree to be Iraqis, just that...and no one need detach themselves from anything."
>
>I'm all for it, except the Chaldeans are just as guilty as Assyrians in detaching themselves and going so far as to even try Catholicizing all "Christians". At least the Assyrians didn't do that.

...you ever hear of born-agains such as Kenfuck...who is in Iraq, when he isn't writing books in Japanese, seeking to buy converts...not from Islam...that's too dangerous, are you KIDDING me?...but converts from Christianity TO Christianity...Chaldeans have not detached themselves from IRAQ..even as they criticze Saddam and cheer the United States on...they were the FIRST and only ones to protest the new war...I can easily believe a Chaldean when he says he cares for Iraq...I don't even HEAR that sentiment from the boys.

>And what is Arabia if not ancient Mesopotamia?

...sorry. The word Mesopotamia MEANS between...meso...rivers, potamie...Between The Rivers...BetNahrain...like it says in our name...Hanna also tried once to convince me that Between the Two Rivers could have been ANY two rivers...like, how about the ones that ran through his town in Turkey...

...In the ancient times there was no Arabia..and as T.E. Lawrence points out in his marvelous book, "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom"...not even by 1917 could the British convince the tribes that they were ARABS and part of a large land mass called Arabia...they had no concept of such a thing...Arabs are from Arabia...those born in Jordan are NOT Arabs...neither are Muslims from Iraq or Egypt.

>NOT true at all. The Chaldean boys, sorry, "Sayidnas" are just as bad as the Assyrian boys, if not worse.

...I agree...but you didn't mention Chaldean boys at first...just Chaldeans.

>"...there those elemsnt in all of us...in all people. But only the Chaldeans show any pride in BEING Iraqis...and much flows from that."
>
>Not true at all. The only pride they show is Chaldean Pride, which is quite different from Iraqi pride.

...I'm afraid you're chewing the furniture in your passion...try to be reasonable as well...in between. One of the things that the boys have against Chaldeans is that they are "Arabized"...also that theyt took money from Saddam to build their churches...and on and on.
>
>So if you're going to roast anyone, roast all of them, because that's what they are all doing, including the Kurds.

...the Kurds are a special case because they are a violent minority, in Iraq, who've been hellbent on independence for ages...no one can fault the Assyrians, Chaldeans or Hottentots if they can take land by force and keep it...it's done all the time and is normal...BUT, what the boys do is fall for every Christian who promises them a triangle if they will just turn against the country...against Iraq...they don't fight themselves...and the loudest and most "patriotic" ones are at the movie theater in Burbank...ranting and raving and achieving nothing more than creating greater dangers for Christians in Iraq...the Kurds FIGHT for what they want and believe in...that's a big difference.
