The last thing though we are is Baathist. We are not greens...we are reds..we were reds at least… hhh Alqoshniye were all known to be communists, like our great Toma Thomas who we will never forget, who I met in Toronto before he died, god rest his soul. So....you have your right to your opinions, but we also do not want to loose our ancestral language sweetheart, and Tariq Aziz is not the greatest example to give.

Anyway, Aramaic is derived from Akkadian, it is the closest language today to what the ancient Assyrians spoke, and you could never convince a Alqoshi to stop speaking in his dialect, and teaching his language =). I’m sorry for my ta3asob, ever since that lady appeared to me, all I think about is Alqosh.

I understand your concerns, but think in broader terms, there are trilingual countries. English and French are the official languages of Canada for example, but even Native is now being taught in schools. So, there is nothing wrong with having even three official languages in Iraq. Anyway I’m sure there are people who are working on the new curriculum, and are making decisions on these kinds of matters. I guess Shiites would not want to learn Aramaic, but in the Northern Region, there is nothing wrong with Arabic, Kurdish, and Aramaic being taught in schools, and it is not an impossible task. The more languages the children of that region learn the better. Don't limit them. I have all faith in the intelligence of the beautiful children of that region. Comprende?
