"The newspaper is in Assyrian...is called the "Courier" and was apparently previously known as the Persian Courier. Why the change I don't know."

...Hmmmm. I think I know the reason for the change..and it has everything to do with Christianity...again. The people who wrote the newspaper...Warda and the rest, were from Iran...i'm guesing. If not originally than after the Raqaa. They could hardly have travelled about the world asking for a Christian enclave made up of Christian villages...in Iraq, no less...what with them all being Persians.

Changing the name..always "names" with us...from the Persian American Courier to the Assyrian American Courier...was their way of giving their Christian demands an ethnic or national veneer. They couldn't very well demand a Little "Persia"...to be placed in Iraq, no less, and made Christian...now could they?

The name change allowed them to drag in Iraqi Christians as well and gave the whole thing a national...non-religious overview...even though they were all Christians and ONLY Christians.

Perhaps they felt that calling it "Assyrian" now would indicate that there was a common strand running through all of them...whether in Persia or Iraq...but the REAL common thread is Christianity and NOT any kind of Assyrian identity. As we all know there are Muslim Assyrians all over the place....

This effort, like the present one, is merely the attempt to carve out a Christian enclave in the guise of a "national" state. Certainly the rest of the people back home know this to be true and will never agree to it...obviously.

That our boys are lying through their teeth to the West should be no surprise..they're just returning the favor.
