..people always scoff at you when you talk about "they"...the unknown, shadowy forces we`re left to assume run things behind our backs..these people say we merely lump our paranoid fantasies into a convenient catch-all phrase...a "they" we can blame for everything...I say, open the fucking books and the hidden recesses and I`ll TELL YOU who "they" are. Its isn`t our fault we`re left to guess just which entity did this or that...but to assume that because we don`t know exactly who did what in which office on which floor of which building in the government...that therefore the market is "free" and things "juist happened that way"...makes us REALLY stupid.

...along those lines...what the hell do we, the PEOPLE, gain by this war? Was Saddam NOT selling his oil all over the world? Is not gas MORE expensive now than it was then? Could it be that the war gave the EXCUSE to raise prices and confront us with the trumped up necessity of having to let our kids go get killed...and all of it so Americans would be forced to contemplate turning over Alaska and the seacoast and anywhere else to these oily beasts to drill...so we aren`t "dependent" on foreign oil?

We HAD all the gas we wanted at reasonable prices...Europeans pay ten bucks a gallon for gas and aren`t killing children in foreign lands over it. Just why do we need to "contriol" Iraqi oil? What happened to the free market...wouldn`t the laws of supply and demand and the demand for all those friggin palaces have compelled Saddam to sell his oil and not sit on it...was he ever sitting on it and refusing to sell?

Did HE raise prices or did WE??? Did Saddam lower fuel efficiency ratings and produce monster cars so we`d need more gas or did Bush and OUR government? Who stands to gain if Americans need and use more gas?

Follow the money...always follow the money.
