...nothing worse than a "nice" person. Firas represents all that is creepy in our "caring" nationalists. He's among those who claim Saddam was trying to Arabize them...a complicated bit of fluff that's too tiresome to go through all over again, except to note that one of the main complaints of these nice people is that in Iraq they were not allowed to wear their own names proudly but must choose "Arabic" names.

In defiance Firas comes to America where you can call yourself any damn thing you please and proceeds to change his own name...the one so dear in Iraq, to "Ross" on the mistaken assumption that white people will like him more...since Firas is all of a sudden too ethnic in the land of Freedom and Prosperity. Which is worse, to have your name forcibly changed for you, at gun point...or to do it yourself, willingly, at latte point?

This brings us to the happy thought that while "Ross", the newly minted Jatou, urges and pays for the destruction of Iraq and the murder of Iraqi parents and several children too...he delights himself by gathering a few trinkets to send to the orphans his Americans DIDN'T get. This is seen as noble by a man who can't keep his own name on, let alone his shirt. But this isn't far different from the Aids Society, those who are so fucking glad they got out in time that they've become concerned lest others take the same route and have dedicated themselves to making sure the rest stay behind. By a curious logic of "nationalism" and extreme patriotism, you can have neither...cannot drum up interest in "dear" Nineveh and "poor orphans" unless you have Christians back there getting pounded and, of course, several orphans to feelgoodabout...who can be the recipients of your blood-guilt gifts for Christmas.

These people revel in bandaids...they love applying gauze to bloody stumps. They are not the ones to stop destruction and indeed in this case and for the first time in our shabby history in the modern era, Christians are the ones YEARNING for Iraq to be pounded into peace. You almost feel that if there was no outlet for their "compassion" they'd fairly burst with pride. It's confusing, I know...but then look at them, frantically praying to a Jew god for deliverance AS Assyrians! Imagine anyone else doing that...imagine a Jew praying to Ashur for deliverance AS a Jew.

Someone asked "Ross" how the "Toys for Tots in Nineveh" is going...now that the "Bombs For Their Parents", funded by the same people, has been such a raging success...in fact you could say that the success of the one program was "intimately" connected to the success of the other...and this is his cheery reply...

Feddy, (ain't that cute?)

The project is actually that of the Assyrian Acadmeic Society and it is doing very well. With the generous contributions of Assyrians worldwide, we were able to meet and exceed the target sum we wanted to reach.

The funds have been wired to our people in Ninweh and they are preparing to go with the plan accordingly. Soon after Christmas, we will have photos and evantually video footage of the gift distribution.

Thanks to all who took part in this project.

....and let's hear it for those who helped make the "needy" children needy in the first place. If not for Judas there could have been no murder of Jesus...and without the murder of Jesus all the nice people on earth could not have gotten into Heaven. I'm sure "Ross" believes in this. He learned his lessons well.
