and.. my apologies to the Ashurist reading like the one the other day... I did say that I would not talk about Ashurists and that evil man anymore but I was responding to something he posted.. my apologies though... I respect Ashur and believe all people pray to the same God who is a mystery and any anthropomorphic characterisitcs they give them come from within our psyche and not God's... so the name does not matter to me...

...I think I understand your symptoms. You confuse yourself because you are shot through with contradictions...you are "good" Shushan and "bad" Shushan...then argue with your self to clarify yourself, but only confuse yourself further...then, being more confused than before, you confuse yourself some more and thus attain "clarity"...which, for you, means the sensible and the nonsensical have merged together. Now I'm confused.

it is what its principles are and Jesus' sermons (not what some religious bible thumpers have falsely turned it into) are what I see as divine...

...there is nothing significant in those sermons...nothing he said that wasn't said a thousand times in BetNahrain. Had the Epic of Gilgamesh never been unearther you jackasses would be telling us how marvellous it was that the Hebrews invented the Noah myth...how it prooved the Hebrews were so brilliant. Never in the history of science and archeology especially, have so many ORIGINAL documents, such as the hundreds of thousands of cuneiform tablets, been kept under lock and key...why? Only the Dead Sea Scrolls were kept hidden from the public, though they were eventually released...can you imagine the writing of ANY other people...from any stage in human development but from THAT age, no less...a time that coincides with the biblical age but unlike what the Jews have written down LATER, was penned by THOSE original people in their own handwriting..can you IMAGINE the direct, historical writing of ANY other people...written in a language that can be easily READ...NOT BEING REVEALED? Why? What ELSE is contained in OUR tablets?

But, more to the point, how is it that "Assyrians" are so fucking taken by a book written years AFTER the fact...a book that relates JEWISH HISTORY and tells in detail the murder of a Jew by his "dear" father? It is in this petty obsession you people have with ALL facets of a silly-assed Jew religion while at the same time ignoring the WEALTH of wisdom and revelations of your OWN ancestors that gives you the lie. You are Jews....early converted to Christ, the Jew Messiah...who have recently taken to adding the word "Assyrian" to your Jew-based religion because you and your churches thought you could gain something by it.

and I respect and admire my Assyrian heritage but I can't worship any God in the way ancients did and even some modern religions do, and I can't worship a God of war and empire that hurt so many people and let our people down...

...that's the Jew in you all over. The Hebrews huddled on a miserable, plague-infested, barren hilltop in ignorance and fear, sacrfificing their first-born sons, as yahwe would do to Jesus...they had no river, they had no agriculture..they had sheepshit and goat turds and every once in a while they found some wild honey and ate the bugs that flew by...they created nothing, built noting...there is not a SINGLE brick from that ancient fraud, Solomon's "temple" to be found anywhere...in fact go to any Israeli Museum and see what's on display...nothing. The Jews chose Jerusalem because no one else wanted it...it was remote and therefore afforded those hapless people some measure of protection...something they never managed to do for themselves...which is the reason they craved a Messiah...all around them were glorious and refined people..the Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans. Periodically someone took them to these great centers of civilization and taught them to read and write and wash themselves and eat something beside dust...and when they were released from wonderful "bondage" in Babylon...the MAJORITY of them chose to stay because they'd never had it so good...while the ones who failed everywhere went back to the "promised land"...they even had to take themselves to Egypt periodically when there was no grass for their goats...because these popel couldn't even IRRIGATE anything from that "mighty river" that you could wade across and not get your feet wet.

By contrast the Assyrians and Babylonians lived on a level and open plain on some of the riches land in the world, desired and fought over by countless people then and NOW...land so rich it was called the Fertile Crescent...which provided the food and stuff for the Cradle of Civilization...facing attack from all sides, straddling a major trade route. Having created so much wealth...so much science and metalurgy and music and cuisine (as only recently released records show...with over 300 kinds of bread alone)and architecture and public hygeine, water systems and aqueducts and irrigation canals and art and medicine...they needed to protect what they had from waves of nomadic people...they HAD to have an army or there could have been no civilization.

In that age...in Sargon and Hammurabi's time, creating an empire was a MUST. Without that and with all the danger on the open roads between city-states, there could have been no civilization. City-states would have remained hampered by the limited resources in their immediate vicinity and there would have been no pollination, so important to plants AND humans. It was merchants and traders who took the wealth and discoveries and raw materials from one place to another, allowing each city on their route to gather an increasing number of materials and tools and knowledge with which they expanded and added to what was impossible to create with only the materials close at hand...it was in this way that the cedar wood was spread and marble and tin and gold and silver and iron ore and writing and art and culture etc...not to mention the techniques learned in using the materials, plus cloth and fabrics and plants and staples...and most of all TOLERANCE for wherever the great trading centers were, that was where people saw others of different beliefs, clothing, tastes, color and religion...and where you have that sort of mixing, where someone who believes in turtles must buy cloth from soneone who believes in frogs, bonds are created and ideas exchanged and tolerance grows...ideas which travel back to where they never existed before so people learn about each other and see nothing to fear from variety but everything to GAIN from the array of achievements humans have attained to.

None of this would be possible without an empire...without bringing under one Law and rulea variety of cities and regions with their people who would otherwise remain locked up in their own narrow consciousness...and security was necessary to allow freedom of movement and freedom from attack, freedom to build and secure what you built so others could add onto it etc... and they needed a unified law code so that all people of the empire were treated fairly and not subject to arbitrary regional laws and customs...and an army is MOST necessary in order to patrol the roads between the cities, protect the mountain passes and dessert oasis and sea lanes, so that merchants, since they were the ones travelling the most and spreading wealth, knowledge, finance and banking, raw materials and finished products, could feel secure and not face arrest in one town for what was legal in another, or robbery away from the city gates...so they could dare venture out to begin the long, slow process of introducing the various people on earth to each other...enriching us ALL in time.

And of course there were disaffected princes and ruling cliques who would naturally resent the loss of their power over their own subject people...people who were far more abused by their own narrow leadership than they would be under a spreading and enlightened empire...as the Jews who chose to stay and prosper and thrive in Babylon...and NOT return to be ruled over by a tyrannical and ignorant priesthood in Jerusalem...and these rebellions were costly and the King risked his own life leading his armies out to restore obedience, which meant order and prosperity too...as well as security. Sennakherib, the Great King of Assyria, forgave the Babuylonians TWICE their rebellions...only punishing them the third time when they ignored his clemency and rose again, killing his son and heir...and it was Ashurhaddon, who next became king who rebuilt Babylon.

The Assyrians have been given the royal shaft by the Hebrews and to hear you Christians..offspring of those same Hebrews, tell us how "cruel" and savage we were is maddening...

I truely believe they were lost for hundreds of years for their belief in Ashur was that he made them victorious in war and empire building... and I want peace and harmony,

...and the country you live in doesn't have an army...and wouldn't protect your nation and you from attack? And your country, your European transplanted country, got their new lands through peace and harmony or murder and theft and rapine and pillage?

so I choose Jesus but knowing that he WAS THE GOOD SAMARITAN! i.e. half Jewish half Assyrian!

...he was nice Jew...a carpenter, a gentle man who tried to make the Roman yoke more tolerable so he preached non-violence as a means of gaining some stability and security on earth, under Roman rule...and he proved right...one more rebellion and the Jews lost their "promised land". The Jews hoped he was their promised Messiah because they so hated the Romans and wanted WAR against them BUT, with heavenly help...a part Jesus refused to play...so together they all killed him and you've been feeding off his corpse since then.

..The Assyrians could not have produced the refined civilization they had, whose details are STILL being suppressed by Christians and Jews so we'll believe your slanders and distortions. It defies reason and logic to think you could create so much by being "essentially" warlike and savage. They had to protect what they had because they had SO MUCH. Their justifiable wrath was reserved for those who led rebellions against their liege lords...and that has been a crime throughout history. Didn't your god kill ALL babies of the people who "rebelled" against him?...the Assyrians didn't invent abiding by the Law of the Land in order to gain "security" in order to maintain peace... it was a prerequisite for peace and harmony...but more than that, for the advancement of the cause of all of Humanity...for all of the gifts the Assyrians created..all of their achievements were handed down freely and used just as freely by succeeding cultures and civilizations...advancing the cause of all civilization...had they NOT defended it as well as CREATED it...you'd be stupider than you are already.
