...Scientists working with a grant from The World Bank and Merck Inc. have discovered evidence of recurring and mysterious syndromes they now believe triggered some of the major world headaches and depression fits ever.

All results arenīt yet made up but early indications are that there was once a "Rebellious Slave Syndrome" that inexplicably affected large numbers of working men and women in the Roman Empire. Those so afflicted were unable to find fullfilment in their jobs and were lacking in self-motivation. Carried to an extreme and left untreated this behavior resulted in an inability to do simple tasks...to show up on time...to feep focused etc. Scientists feel had there been multi-national drug companies dispensing multi-drugs, treatment would have been simple, safe and fast...and far less costly than crucifying humans by the thousands when several went on un-authorized holiday.

A little later in history there was the "French Peasant Syndrome" in which whole swatches of French men and women found themselves listless and mysteriously unable to tolerate cake. Other symptons included deep depression at the sight of wealthy people...and a sense of purposelessness at the nothing they had to look forward to...also a sudden panic at the thought of spending time in any large stone structure with bars on it and other such things which led people to eventually topple the king. This all could have been avoided had the proper nutrition and a mixture of health restoring drugs been available.

Years later and not too far from our own time, Russian people all of a sudden could no longer tolerate the normal state of existance their parents and ancestors had put up with for centuries. Peasants, known affectionaly as Serfs...grew dissatisfied with timeless traditions no one else minded, like "Driot de Signeur" wherein the Lord of their lands and bodies could sleep with any bride first on her wedding night...people also refused any longer to abide by Church rules that allowed priests to sleep with any child...as well as refusing to be satisfied any longer their meagre though healthy diet of "Water Soup"...warmed slightly.

Once again scientists believe it was the lack of proper health care that led to the unfortunate break out of anti-social behavior in 1917.

As proof of their theory they point to our current state of affairs in the advanced western countries...say America, for instance...where the availability of health care drugs have enabled people to live pleasant lives no matter who fucks them over or how often.

People today are able to lead normal lives inspite of not knowing what will happen to them...their savings...their salaries or when their children will be sent to wars and prayed over. Any number of societal pressures and breakdowns and government scams and abuses that would have set older societies aflame with agitation, have passed mildly over the landscape...bringing narry a frown to the lips of our better medicated and healthier modern peasants.

This is progress.
