...our weasel in residence is challenging Maggie Yonan to a debate. That means he and Peter The Rabbit have prepared things for her. She's refused of course...any debate with Aprim lasts as long as Jassim or Firas allows it to....before Aprim fires off an email in the night threatening to take himself away and "then where will you be"? After which Jassim will say Maggie is an enema of Assyria filled with hate etc. and ban her.

I think I remember now where I met Maggie...I think she was president of Dadeeshoos School for Scholars. She asked me once for a couple of Lamasu's...said they wanted to give one as a gift to the retiring police chief of Turlock and keep one for their club. I'd stopped making them but agreed to make the two...the day I delivered them Maggie wasn't there but Dadeeshoo was...I'd driven to Turlock to deliver them and though the total cost wasn't much...Dadeeshoo made a point of not having the check ready...said they'd mail it to me. I knew what that meant...it meant they wouldn't mail the check till they'd made me call several times...they play these pissant power games...something about the entire exchange made me sorry I'd ever agreed to do them the favor....ten minutes after leaving the sculptures there I doubled back...walked into Dadeeshoos studio and took the sculptures.

How all of them can continue the myth that Dadeeshoo has a doctorate, when they all know he's lying, is beyond me. I guess he's one more "flawed" human bean...more like cracked.
