...they do mean something. They aren`t snatched from thin air. There`s a good reason the church chose to make cannibalism a part of its requirements. Jesus never wanted to be eaten..that`s absurd..not even symbollically. And hanging a corpse above your altar in your "house of worship" makes the image of a religion derived from an abbatoir or charnel house about as complete as it needs to be.

There is no doubt at all that they intended the bread to be flesh...either it starts out as his flesh or ends up that way...no one thinks they are merely eating toast and drinking fruit juice...it is his body and his blood. To say otherwise is to try to be cute...and pawning this off as a Muslim criticism that has no merit is also silly...anyone not of this bloody religion would wonder at what the hell you people are talking about.

So, I ask again...as long as we`re discussing "only" symbols...symbols that nonetheless represent heinous crimes frowned upon by almost all of civilized people...what you would think of a religion which bakes a wafer in the shape of a boy`s genitals..and then has its priest eat them? Would you not think that at some time..or in some way, this church is advocating such an act...for real? Or that at the least it wants to promote the IDEA of such acts as being not only acceptable but holy as well?

Sure, the priesthood would call it merely a symbollic act..but I say again that symbols are chosen for a reason..they are not mere accidents devoid of meaning or thought.

Why this symbol? Why this charade? Why not plant a flower for Jesus every Sunday instead? Why re-enact this grisly ritual and then try to explain it away or whitewash it...shrug it off as nothing to be concerned about?

It isn`t just their children`s gentilas parents should be concerned about when they drive their innocent children to Church..they should worry a little about the other end as well.
