...how could the boys NOT have known what a democracy would mean in Iraq? The country is predominantly Shiia....any democracy will give them a veto over all the rest...the Sunni could even form a coalition with the Christians and they still wouldn't be the majority....

...and forget about the Kurds...who will now be set against Iraq with the Americans supplying BOTH sides...as they've done before.

Saddam was keeping the Shiia from power...his Sunni minority was allowing Christians to own liquor stores...allowed full educational benefits to women...allowed them to work alongside men...allowed them to listen to Western music, wear western clothing if they chose to...and the Kurds dared not take over the Christian pubic triangle...how could they have thought a democracy would improve conditions for the minority Christians..ESPECIALLY when it was Christians who attacked the country?

This can't have been an oversight on their parts, they who claim to know so much about the REAL conditions in Iraq...the boys went on and on about how terrible things were for them under Saddam...and now they keep their mouths shut when the government is handed over to Shiias...they are PLEASED because they can teach the "language of Jesus" in their schools...they can teach the little Christian girls how NOT to go to college or seek employment...but they can do it in SOORETH...so HURRRAH...PROGRESS!!! They prefer being caged but able to speak their language when begging alms...to being free but having to apply for jobs in Arabic.

On Mathews' show today they had Susan Molinari on, a Republican, and she was trying valiantly to defend the benefits we bestowed on Iraq...these people STILL know nothing about Iraq...she actually said, "well at least people are now free to walk the streets"...they ARE? Were the streets more dangerous when Saddam was there? I don't recall kidnappings and bombings on the road to the airport before...

Molinari said the problem is insurgents...ousiders..to which I was startled to hear Mathews say another word for insurgents is RESIDENTS..and he reminded Molinari that to the Brits, the Revolutionaries of 1776 were insurgents...Molinari didn't know what to say...first time in four years someone was able to say this kind of thing to a neo-con to their face...that's why they're so careful to avoid confrontation...like the grairs at beth...it's so damn easy to make fools of them...and they know it.

Another woman on the show said it is totally ironic that American values, and blood and billions were said to be needed for the new democratic Iraq..and yet all we did in the end was guarantee that 50% of the population, the women, would become disenfranchised...is this an American "value" worth all this blood and guts and treasure?

But screw Mathews and the rest who will now crawl out of the woodwork when it is safe...they are all of ONE party ONE point of view...when it mattered the most these newly minted "critics" of Bush didn't speak out...now that it's sort of okay and now that the damage has been done...they and many others, who knew all along this was a doomed enterprise from the start, will "speak out"...

you cannot "improve" people at gunpoint...

And what is democracy worth if the majority are Nazis,,,as in Germany...who democratically and freely elect and re-elect a Fascist government time and time again? What guarantee of freedom or improved status for the Christians did the boys see in a Shiaa majority, come to power democratically?..that now wants to use fundamental Islamic law to rule everyone by?

Molinari was desperate to say things are better today than they were under Saddam...why not...when have these people spoken a simple truth that they should start now?

The boys are more interested now in getting THREE instead of ONE representative...and they will yell long distance at those hapless reps, one or twenty...telling them to stand up in the Iraqi Parliament and tell the TRUTH, khon, about "dirty Islam" and that "pedophile" Muhammad..and if they DON'T, they'll be reviled as "traitors" who "sold out" their "nation" of Assrian nitwits.

...the boys can't possibly have been THAT stupid...only a LITTLE thought would have shown them that this war would be a disaster and that the Christians there, not in Texas...would pay heavily for it...that's why they had to keep us off their forums...because people might THINK...for themselves and conclude that a far worse fate was in store for Iraq than the glowing reports of Kenfuck from his ice cream truck church on wheels.

I picked up a phrase I just came across...it's from Thomas Jeferson...he said, when contemplating the treatment the Native Americans and Africans received at the hands of his countrymen..."I shudder for my nation when I think there is a just God".

Shudder.
