I was at my grandma's house for dinner tonight. Today’s special was Beriani. She gets all of the Arabic satellite stations, and today she had a surprise for me. She said that she was flipping through the channels, and THIS came on…and what was it? A 24 hour satellite station called ‘Ashtar. Every so often, they come on and explain what ‘Asshtaar means, or stands for, but otherwise, she said there is no news, no drama, no nothing, except for music videos in Surath. The backdrop for the videos is lush green mountains, streams, etc. Is that odd, or what? The guy’s voice is stuck in my head. “ ‘Asshtaaar!”. Does anybody know what the deal is with this satellite station? --------------------- |
