...reading in Will Durant again...the early Caliphs made the rule of Islam so gentle that Christians and Jews alike...as well as Zoroastrians converted in increasing numbers...so much so that the Caliph's advisors were aghast and warned at the lost revenue...because non-Muslims paid a slight poll tax.

...you'd think that simple logic would have dawned on the boys....why the hell would Muslim rulers "force" people to convert to Islam thereby losing so much treasure in the way of taxes?

...Infidels were EAGER to sign up.
