The Soviet Union had a great sounding constitution...so did the United States. Aside from the fact that what was Iraq will soon be divided in three after a long, protracted civil war, not to mention Turkish involvement in Kurdistan...there's the little problem of what "under Law" means.

Having defined "law" as anything that does NOT run counter to the basic rules of Islam, an Islam of Shiia interpretation, the word "law" is then used as a stand-in for Sharia Law...which was NOT the case when Iraq was ruled by a nasty dictator.

As a small and silly, but telling, case in point, liquor stores were legal under non-Sharia, dictator Law...they will be illegal under the new, demoractic, "rule of law". It's not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning. Nazis were also big on "law" and "order".

This constitution, which can be rammed down the throat of everyone else by the Shiia majority, merely replaces one tyrant, Saddam, by several million fundamentalist tyrants...much the same as the Communist Party in Russia was nothing more than a million or so Czars...acting every part the supreme Autocrats, as one Czar had.

Tyranny is in the air in Iraq...and whether one man, one party, one religious sect or one majority imposes it...it's all the same. You can see how tempting playing at petty tyrant is when you see the boys setting up mini-dictatorships of their own. That's all they see in America...the chance for THEM to play at tyrant.

The longer the United States stays in Iraq, the better the tactics and the greater the number of Freedom Fighters using those tactics. There were once no "terrorists" in the MidEast...then the Christians brought their "final solution" of THEIR "Jewish problem" to play its next chapter there...they looked the other way for decades and supplied and DIRECTED the Islraelis, all the while plaintively crying, "what CAN we do, you know how those JEWS ARE"!

America got its new "communist threat"...its new enemy...and the arms race continued...nothing is better for oil prices than "instability" in Iraq and the region. All the oily people have to do is point to the "uncertainty" in the region and they can add whatever they want to their bottom line. Enron played the same game only there they merely conspired to "revamp and repair" several power plants at the same time...thereby causing a "shortage" which merely meant you got the same energy you ever did...you just paid ten and a hundred times as much for it.

There was NEVER a shortage of oil and gas...not even in the 70s...all that happened is that the OPEC nations tried to play the same international game our own financiers play all the time...they created a THREAT of a shortage by regulating the price themselves...a big part of which is THREATENING to cut supply...which led to an INCREASE in price...and that's all.

There's no shortage now...there's some interruption...which oily people are COUNTING on so they can raise the price...although how THAT affects the amount of oil that gets pumped is never explained. It goes something like this..."those billions of barrels of oil we sell to you just went up in price because there is a threat to our supply...you'll still get them...but this threat means we get to charge you more"...huh? Does the price increase do away with the threat? Do the people who are responsible for the threat back off once they hear the price has increased? Makes you think the increase in price is used, in part, to pay off the people who MAKE the threat...and everyone BUT you, is happy.

The other benefit to our oily people is our willingness to drill Alaska and more of our shoreline...something the neo-oils are hoping we'll allow them to do, in the name of "national security"....the same plea Hitler made ten years before his party caused the worst nightmare in German history...of the GERMAN people.

There is something dreadfully wrong with the definitions we've all been crarrying around in our heads...such as "Life"...and its "quality" and "meaning". Never has it been more important to look at what we're doing to each other and ourselves and this planet...and never has there been such a determination to get lost in the bible...any connection?

Wullah....we YEARN for Armageddon.
