Dear Mary,

Of course, in any form of Christianity, regardless of the denomination, it is a basic tenent that you must believe the Bible.

If someone doesnt believe the Bible, you just arent. It is quite simple.

Frankly, I am shocked that Assyrians dont seem to believe in what our ancestors gave their live for.

More and more I am beginning to understand why we have nothing. If we dont even believe in the Bible anymore than this is the problem.

I am having a hard time trying to adjust to this all. Assyrians that dont believe the Bible. It is like saying moslems who dont believe the Koran . . .

Help me in my misunderstanding. I had not realized that the situation with the Assyrians was so bad . . .

Am I missing something?

If you dont believe the Koran you are not a moslem. If you dont believe the teachings of buddah you are not a buddhist. If you do not believe the torah you are not a Jew. If you do not believe Karl Marx you are not a communist etc etc.

Truly shocking! I had not realized this. Can someone help me understand if this is widespread? Is it just a small `fringe` minority or is it greater?

Ken

Would that make me a lesser Christian??? And if I say that several chapters of the Old Testament were taken from the Mesopotamian mythology would that make me less of a believer?
