Yes, I think the Assyrians of today reek of gypsydom... It's the only explanation that makes sense. A couple of Assyrian friends in Australia started an ISP and initially had thought that they could really corner the market on the Assyrian community in particular and their Internet activities (PalTalk, et al). Every Assyrian family has an internet connection. It didn't take long for the owners of the ISP to realize that it was a no win situation... They tell me their Assyrian customers are the worst. They refuse to use credit cards (since it is a flat monthly charge for internet service), insist upon getting hard copy bills monthly and paying by money orders/checks and are regularly behind in their bills. Of course, this is all after they wrestle a "for-the-sake-of-a-fellow-Assyrian" discount out of them. --------------------- |
