I heard a commentator on NPR speaking of Israeli's upcoming elections, power-brokering government-sharing party dealings, and they mentioned a new party that Ariel Sharon has formed, which will be ruling the government with the Labor and/or Likud parties... ...and this commentator matter-of-factly described Ariel Sharon as a LEFT-LEANING politician...!? If Sharon is left wing, who-and-what-the-FUCK is right wing? Does anybody remember when he personally and singlehandedly delayed the peace process by taking 40,000 billion troops to the most sacret Muslim holy site in Jerusalem because he wanted to take a walk in the park? Does anybody remember that just a few weeks before then, Yasser Arafat and the leader of Israel were visiting each other's homes and were closer than they have ever been to a peace deal? Does anybody (in America)...remember? And this, coming from a guy who can't remember shit (me). --------------------- |
