"Aboot", hahaha, that's my clever Canadian accent going at it again... "The dual substance of Christ - the yearning, so human, so superhuman of man to attain God...has always been a deep, inscrutable mystery to me." (Nikos Kazantzakis) That right there is a quote that Martin Scorsese uses in the begining of the film, with the sweet score surrounding it. Here is the greatest director ever, making a film adaptation based on a book by one of the most original writers ever (Nikos who wrote "Zorba the Greek" and "Christ Re-Crucified", READ IT). Both a devout Catholic and Orthodox Christian and yet all I remember is the attacks against them and all who went to see the film. The funny thing is the fact that the end result was a devout film based on a devout novel. Great film, and I can't believe I finally found someone else in our culture that's seen Beholder. Man, if it wasn't for that nose I would say you'd make a great find for some girl someFARGINday. You degenerate shnozer you!!! --------------------- |
