Dalai Lama Meets With Muslims in Calif. By JUSTIN M. NORTON, Associated Press Writer
Sun Apr 16, 8:47 AM ET

SAN FRANCISCO - The Dalai Lama urged religious leaders Saturday to reach out to Muslims, saying Islam is a compassionate faith that has been unfairly maligned because of a few extremists.

"Nowadays to some people the Muslim tradition appears more militant," the 70-year-old exiled monk said at a weekend conference, which aimed to bring Muslims and Buddhists together.

"I feel that's totally wrong. Muslims, like any other traditions — same message, same practice. That is a practice of compassion," he said.

Event organizers say the Dalai Lama interrupted his schedule to fly to San Francisco and meet Islamic scholars and leaders from other faiths to discuss reducing violence and extremism.

Security was tight at the invitation-only event, which drew about 500 religious leaders and scholars. The conference included speakers and presenters from numerous faiths and roughly 30 countries.

The Dalai Lama told the audience that many people see and hear news of suicide bombings in predominantly Muslim countries but don't hear about how Muslims often work with the poor.

He said all human beings are prone to violence if they lose control of their emotions and not to judge an entire faith based on a few people. "A few mischievous people are always there," he said.

The Dalai Lama, who was awarded the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize, fled Tibet in 1959 following an aborted uprising against Chinese rule in the territory and now keeps an office in exile in the Himalayan town of Dharmsala, India.

The Dalai Lama also told conference attendees that religious traditions must work harder to live together in peace, citing religious violence in Northern Ireland, Pakistan and Iraq.

Hamza Yusuf, founder of the Zaytuna Institute, a Hayward-based center for Islamic study, said the conference could help build relationships between Buddhists and Muslims and promote a greater understanding of Islam. He noted that Muslims and Buddhists lived together peacefully for hundreds of years in Tibet.

Yusuf said the Dalai Lama's participation in the event could warm Americans to Islam, since many Americans have mixed feelings about the faith but are receptive to Buddhism.

"He wanted to meet us in solidarity as a community because he felt like people were attacking Islam," Yusuf said.

Seyed Ali Ghazvini of the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno said he hoped the conference would encourage Muslims to be more visible and active in the United States.

"This is a matter of necessity," said Ghazvini, who gave the Dalai Lama a set of Islamic prayer beads. "It's not an option to sit alone in our own community and our own mosques."

---While I truly wish we all could live together in peace...and while I do like the Dalai Lama's idea about promoting understanding and so on and so forth...I must agree only to an extent.

The people in Iraq who are acting "violently" are doing it out of necessity. Is it illogical for one to be attacked and defend himself? Why is it that when one gets attacked and defends himself it becomes "extremism?" You know what this BS reminds me of? It reminds me of that stupid rule in schools where if one starts a fight with another, the one being attacked is not supposed to fight and is supposed to go tell the teacher. I mean...what kind of BS is that???? For example...when you get pushed, kicked, or got a fist coming at you, how on earth are you going to go and tell the teacher? Who has time for that? Who is actually going to run away from that? That is unrealistic. And then...when you do fight, they label you as one who is also at fault and they suspend and/or expel you. Does this make any sense? I remember that's how it was when I was in grade school and it was like that before me and it's still like that now.

Similarly, in Iraq...one sees these people being attacked, telephone and other communication lines being cut off, hospitals, factories, and facilities being bombed, homes being bombed, children being killed, women being raped, men being violated and disgraced as well, and people in general starving to death. Why? B/C the Americans came to "liberate" them but offered them no avenues so that they can continue working and feeding their families other than by siding with the Americans...which makes them a target of the nationalists b/c the former become seen as traitors and collaborators by the latter. And if the Iraqis didn't choose that option [collaborating], they had no other option b/c all the facilities were bombed as well. The facilities I'm talking about are the hospitals, water/waste treatment plants, etc...anything that creates work and is necessary for the country to operate under developed standards.

I was going to post this next comment under my last few posts in which I cited some news articles. What I was leading up to for those of you reading this is that the current situation in the Middle East - if you already didn't know - was a conscious, pre-planned, pre-meditated effort to create death and destruction. They made sure to create destruction in every medium and in every avenue. As you saw in the articles I posted, there is a heavy and unfair media campaign against the people of the Middle East and things are being smudged (lies are being told, etc). They constructed the whole thing with Jill Carroll's comments against the "insurgents" immediately after she had praised them upon release just so they can make sure that the next people that fall into their hands will be killed for sure. You see, they will make sure none of their white people will fall into their hands...but if one of the collaborators (or a perceived collaborator) falls into their hands, they will be killed. And really, that's what they're aiming for. They like seeing these people kill each other. It speeds up their jobs. Afterall, it was their actions which led to Assyrian Christians being killed in the early-to-mid 20th Century by Muslims. And guess what...those Muslims were ethnically Assyrian just like them. Why? B/C they tricked us - Muslim AND Christian - just so they can get us to kill each other.

Oh...and it's not over yet. As a matter of fact, it's just starting. I hope you've all seen the articles about the huge 102 or 103 acre United States Embassy they're building over in Baghdad (about a mile away from the current Green Zone). They say it will be highly secretive, will have its own water and waste treatment facilities, its own water wells, etc. It will be like Vatican City (a.k.a. the Embassy of Death). Actually, it will be the biggest embassy in the world. You can expect this occupation to last for a while...even if not in its current state with so many troops. You can expect the scars to be deep and long-lasting. You can expect this civil war to continue (b/c if you didn't know...it has already begun).

Farid and others may not like hearing/seeing these verses, but unfortunately for us...these following verses (Genesis 9:25-27) ended up true:

25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

It doesn't matter who wrote this or when...or even that it was written. What matters is that the oppression that derives from it is true - it is real. Call it what you want to...that's not the point of this. "Japheth," or "Yaft" - i.e. the white people - are dwelling in our tent (i.e. the US + Europe in Iraq...Assyria). And the black people, whether or not they think they have gotten their rights and whether or not they believe they have been set free, are still being trampled on. And us...a part of the "darkies" as Farid likes to say - the people who took the name (Shim, Shima) of our God - Ashur - we get the stick as well.

And it doesn't end there. Give it some years. I am telling you right now - and it will be recorded on this forum forever - the UN will move their headquarters there as well. The whites are attempting to create their new world order...their new "Babylon," their new one-world government...and they are going to do it there to steal our ancient ancestor's glory. They want to steal our history (even though it will be done in a completely different and murderous way whereas we brought civilization to the barbaric people. And the sad thing is...in doing so, they will affirm their hi-jack document - their rendition of the book of Revelations. In doing so, they will continue to make us look like the bad guys. It would be proper to call them the New Rome.
