Dear Ken, With all due respect you guaranteed us that Iraq was better under US rule, that the illegal US invasion and occupation would get better, that our people would be better off working with the Americans, that our people were free to have ice cream in a Baghdad Ice Cream Parlour. Are you now admitting that the illegal US invasion of Iraq, which began on 20 March, 2003 - a day that shaLL live in infamy - has been and will be a disaster for our people? That's what happens when the secular Iraqi government is illegaly removed against UN and international law. The religous fundamentalists are the only ones remaining to fill the vacuum. Hang on the AUA quoted us before the war as having a 1 million population in Iraq. Is Donny George refering to the original Assyrian Church of the East Christian people of Iraq, or the original Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq? Not that the modern-day Sunni andd Shiites aren't also descendants of the ancient Assyrian and Babyonian people, making them just as original as our people in Iraq. Also speaking of original the first two-thirds of "your article" appear to have been copied by the Art Newspaper: http://www.theartnewspaper.com/article01.asp?id=407 And the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,,1858843,00.html Perhaps you should sue them for plagiarising your work without seeking your permission. So your solution now is for us to continue to support the illegal US occupation of Iraq even though it has been primarily responsible for the majority who have fled along with Dr. Donny George? The US system has been designed from day one to divide and conquer by splintering Iraq's secular government and society along religous and sectarian lines. By dividing the major religous groups into Sunni and Shiite and then using the Shiites as policemen while the Sunnis continued to resist the US administration knew that it would eventually lead to all out civil war between the groups leaving them busy fighting each other instead of the occupiers. The US is acting more and more like a totalitarian regime bent on invading and occupying the Middle East. And yes we should all stand up to this totalitarian corporate hijacked regime, not by lowering ourselves to their standards, but by using peaceful boycotts against the main corporate sponsors of the US government such as Boeing and General Electric. Let's hit them where it hurts, in their share price. Tawdie, Tiglath --------------------- |
