Dear Ken,  I can not comprehend why this concerns you so very much, I mean I am beginning to feel this is as important to you if not more than what is happening on the Assyrians in Iraq. I mean how come you did not demonstrate this great and persistent concern regarding the deliberate homicide of an innocent Assyrian in Gundikusa, Northern Iraq: Assyria!!  Is it because by criticizing Israel you will contradict your Evangelical Christian Virtues?!  Frankly, I too support the Lebanese people and the Palestinian peoples struggle for full emancipation. I do not necessary agree with Hezzbollah's ideology but I do not espouse the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories either, or the bombing of civilians.   This is a matter of principle, Assyrians as oppressed people find natural sympathy with others, and in this conflict Israel has successfully managed to demonstrate to the international community that it is the oppressor, and not the oppressed.  I am sorry that you have received hate mails as per your email, and I think you like all of us should have the opportunity to argue your opinion with out having to put up with derogatory responses. I hope one day we Assyrians will grow to respect the opposite opinion.  Let us all please transcend this crises after all it is not our fight per se. The whole world has turned its full attention on Lebanon, let us all discuss how we can bring the Assyrian crises to the fore and keep it there until something tangible is attained?  I have just noticed many wasted exchange of emails on this issue, which could have been on the Assyrian affairs instead.  This is my two cents on this subject and I will not discuss it any further, because the future of Assyrians in Iraq is frankly more important to me than what is happening in Lebanon. That does not mean the Lebanese people, and the Jewish people do not have my solidarity when either one of them is oppressed.  Finally, dear Ken, the Assyrians love you and respect you but be careful Assyrians do not like bible bashing evangelism:)  Thanks,  Nineb   --------------------- |
