You know, I'm sooo not about hustling, F. Especially not when it comes to anything I write. I still struggle with poetry- reading it AND writing it. I love poeticizing my diary and I think in places I have truly succeeded, hit notes I never could have imagined hitting, but the poem format eludes me. The piece in this thread was just a spontaneous outburst. It felt REALLY GOOD to get that off my chest, but publishing? No thanks. It's like telling a beautiful person they SHOULD model. (Ahem...) A Christian doesn't HAVE to proselytise. A soldier does NOT have to die. A poet does not NEED to publish to write and to feel productive, and reach others. At least not this one... not at this moment. Thanks, though. I think further publishing shall remain on the backburber as I continue to transcribe my VERY copious diary. (Panting.) THAT is my creative goal right now. And I have to tell you- all this Inside Assyria stuff, though it has been creatively good for me, is really cutting into my "work" time. The diary lags. But the moon is there. It's not going anywhere. People from all across the globe are reading. Africa. France. Pakistan. China. Australia. Just to mention a few... And here in the Divided States of America... VERY gratifying. And what an adventure for me! To retrace my steps as I continue to grow in the present, stay sober, grounded, truly in love with my life, as my circle of friends grows, grows, grows. I am truly lucky! Be well. --------------------- |
