(IsraelNN.com) In his weekly Torah sermon, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, a former Sephardic chief rabbi and internationally acclaimed Torah authority, stated hurricane Katrina was G-d’s response to the White House’s encouragement and support of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s disengagement plan.

Rabbi Yosef stated that G-d responded appropriately, as in Israel there are homeless and now in America, the same is true. He explained that the so-called natural disaster is the response for President George W. Bush standing firmly behind Sharon, encouraging him to expel Gaza residents from their communities and then destroy their homes.
