Pardon me, fellas, but I totally slaughtered the term and had intended to say: POLLYANNAISM.
Is Farid "a part" of the Assyrian diaspora, or is he "apart" from it? I tend to think that those of us on the "margins" are just as active and participant as those attending church and going to conventions. I don't know that I, per se, or Farid, or anyone, need be IMMERSED in the community to bring another dimension to the greater "tribe".
Personally, I want to be a part of the world- I struggle to be a person among all persons- and I could care less if such a thing as Assyrian exists a hundred or so years from now, or Arab, or Chinese, or not!
Farid, though, it seems truly cares, or why else would he spend so much time and give so much effort communicating with us his ideas and his grievances?
I don't know... he makes me look at things I am not inclined to look at in the first place and opens my eyes in directions I did not know existed. This alone is a proactive and positive change...
