Brother Ashur, I don't know who worote this, but it is absolute HOG WASH!!!! No Muslim or ARAB came from the Arabian peninsula to invade and conquer the Assyrians! The Arabs were part of the Assyrian empire, from day one, and the Assyrian kings admit this in ancient clay tablets, and even call them ARABU. History has been distorted to the point now even some Arabs don't know the truth, much less some ignorant "Christian" from the West. The Arabs of Iraq, for example, are the descendants of the Sumerians, who were the descendants of the Ubaids, and the Ubaids are part of the original Indus Valley settlers who had moved north-ward from Africa and migrated to Asia, which in turn were part of first humans that evolved in Africa. They are the original Marsh Arabs, and have been there for millinias. The Arabs of Iraq originate in Bet-Nahrain, and are part of our flesh and blood, whether WE like it or not! They have NOTHING to do with with invaders and occupiers from the Arabian penninsula, because they were there in Iraq, from the beginning of civilization, even during the paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neo-lithic period. They accepted Islam when it spread, just like we accepted Christianity when it spread. But we went even further than they did because we created a messiah out of an executed revolutionary figure, whereas they called their leader a prophet. Which one of us is a bigger exaggerater, US or THEM? This is what religion does to people. It makes them create their own "interests" based on their own philosophies, rather than FACTS. These "interests", in turn, foment wars. Now these religious wars started in the dark ages. What is our excuse today? We live in the age of enlightenment, where there's plenty of food to go around for every human being on this planet. So what is REALLY behind these wars, conquests, crusades, jihads, etc? POLITICS! This has been so from the beginning Western-inspired religions, (i.e. Judeo-Christian-Muslim religion.) Why is this not so with Budhism? Why doesn't a Budhist kill in the name of GOD? This is the million dollar question, and let's see if you can answer it? --------------------- |
