"Never said it wasn't ART, BUT there's a huge difference between an idiot that tags his name on buildings and the creative one who spends all night painting his vision with a can. Forget expressing ones self, I could do that with telling someone how I really feel about them by pissing in the snow. That would take up a city block and a case of beer with a pot or two of coffee, but what can I say, I’m a perfectionist like that.

---Yes, you can try to express yourself that way but it isn't going to get you anywhere when one has to go to city council meetings or other political arenas to get stuff done. And the truth is that for years white people didn't give minorities (typically the darker skinned people) the time of day. For example, in many Latin American countries, you can see an interesting phenomenon occur when looking at the power hierarchy. The higher you go up the hierarchical ranks, the lighter the skin of the people in the posts. There are rare exceptions. But the point I'm trying to illustrate is that graffiti is sometimes a necessary action to get a point across. I have personally seen people do it for important reasons and governments at the local/city level were compelled to respond to the call of those who were being neglected.

"We had some Assyrian taggers and spray paint artists back in the day. The taggers had names like Qoota, Sweekha, Speeca. Then there were the gangus bangus Assyrian Kings or Eagles who painted their gang banging ass all over Chicago, Crowns up and Pitchforks Down, kill this kill that, I’m insane and I’ll eat your family.

The Artists were awesome, even the local police officers liked their work, Assyrian Flag with a red eye in the middle, a Winged Bull that so many people saw on their ride on the L, very sweet."

---Yea, well...from your initial post it was difficult to discern whether or not you recognized graffiti as art. I mean, this is all I had to work with from your post:

"Graffiti is a bunch of idiots tagging their name for the world(inner-city world) to see on the train ride home, these are a poor mans version of Murals."

It's good to see you know some stuff about graph writing and respect the real form of it.

Ado:
"What I get pissed off at is the idiots who had the nerve to tag over these pieces. Can you imagine the Winged Bull with "Qoota" running across it. The worst part is the fact that there were so many other walls they could've done this on, so many other murals they could've chosen, but they chose their own. Assyrian Graffiti on Assyrian Art crime, fuckin’ losers.

Again, this work isn't Graffiti, I think that would be an insult to say so."

[b]---That's the metaphor for Assyrians. We've been destroying each others' stuff for years. We hurt each other physically, financially, emotionally, etc...just as we are doing right now. With the exception of periods in history where we sold each other out like we are doing right now (e.g. ~ Mid 1700s B.C. - ~ Mid 1300s B.C.), Assyrians didn't act like they do now. It was also common to see young people involved politically unlike now when the so-called "clubs," "organizations," and "parties" have old people of amazing incompetence not allowing the young people to get involved and run things. But the revolution is coming...
