Never said it wasn't ART, BUT there's a huge difference between an idiot that tags his name on buildings and the creative one who spends all night painting his vision with a can. Forget expressing ones self, I could do that with telling someone how I really feel about them by pissing in the snow. That would take up a city block and a case of beer with a pot or two of coffee, but what can I say, I’m a perfectionist like that. We had some Assyrian taggers and spray paint artists back in the day. The taggers had names like Qoota, Sweekha, Speeca. Then there were the gangus bangus Assyrian Kings or Eagles who painted their gang banging ass all over Chicago, Crowns up and Pitchforks Down, kill this kill that, I’m insane and I’ll eat your family. The Artists were awesome, even the local police officers liked their work, Assyrian Flag with a red eye in the middle, a Winged Bull that so many people saw on their ride on the L, very sweet. What I get pissed off at is the idiots who had the nerve to tag over these pieces. Can you imagine the Winged Bull with "Qoota" running across it. The worst part is the fact that there were so many other walls they could've done this on, so many other murals they could've chosen, but they chose their own. Assyrian Graffiti on Assyrian Art crime, fuckin’ losers. Again, this work isn't Graffiti, I think that would be an insult to say so. --------------------- |
