...this is most confusing to me...never mind the mumbo jumbo...but the practicality of it...the world so damn rotten, God decides he'll send his son, the promised Jew Messiah...Assyrians had no0 use for one....he comes down, does his thing...there is rottenness and whoredoms and fornications and pisses and farts,....and the Jews believe their Messiah will lead them to glory etc etc...and he LEAVES!

...what the hell? Were things real bad or weren't they? They were so bad that he had to leave? Why?....will things improve on their own with him gone? How? Why? If they were pretty bad before he came..and he walked around and spoke a bit before getting hanged...what changed? HAS rthe world been a better place? It HAS??? Then why is he looked for to come back AGAIN???

..."hey Jesus, over here...boy could we use some HELP...thank you so much for coming...hey...where are you going? Come back! Isn't it fucked up ENOUGH for you yet???" And realize...this was BEFORE the Christians brought us the Inquisition and witch burnings and cleansings and torture and religious wars...this was BEFORE all the horrors done in the name of Christ!

The plot thickens when he dies. For the vast majority, they don't even know what happens before or after. Oh wait! They only other stories they remember are ones Charlton Heston (You know the born-again Christian and president of NRA) played in. Even the bishops of the Assyrians church say, "Read, only the Book of Matte." I wonder why.

>I guess the point of my post is my own personal epiphany. That necessity is the mother of invention. At a time when we needed an answer to that question, we improvised. I am just wondering what will happen when we can mathematically calculate what happens after death or scientifically prove it. Will religion wage a holy war on science? Hasn't it already?

...there is a definite disconnect between the single most human quality we have..the ONE thing that distinguishes us from the rest and that is our REASON...and at one time it was indeed REASON...or what passed for it then...which made the case for SOMETHING "ot there"....but as you know, they used gods to explain even the simplest functions....today Reason is indeed the enemy of religion...at least as it is popularly known...yes, people needed to explain things they could in no way understand and the easiest way was to make a Superman who could just wave his hand and make whatever ailed you go away./..or quiet your fears....such as the fear of death....which we are so stupid to be afraid of...it's like being afraid of life...BOTh are miracles waiting to happen but NOT the cartoonish and idiotic notions of heaven th4ese simpletons with their damaged or underdeveloped minds come up with..it's is truly a fool's paradise they imagine.

So, yes....religion MUST make war on science and reason and logic..it HAS to. But oddly enough it's a one sided fear....for scientists, more than anyone... even priests, KNOW what a miracle Life is and how many zillions of things there are that can have NO rational explanation...because we are as yet too weak and immature to understand...but even if the day comes when we understand EVERYTHING...we still won't understand the core of it...that we will ONLY know when we go to our deaths smilingly and joyously...not insanely kicking and screaming...I don't mean a murdered death...a mean if you can live out YOUR fate.

1000 years ago lots of things had to be put down to miracles...to acts of god...which we know can understand...but we STILL don't know where the first cell..or the impetus for all this, came from,.,.,,or why. But whatever we do we must NOT let the gaggle of ignorant and self serving men...MEN, of "god" lead us by the nose...THEY are now the regressive forces in human life...
