> >What do you guys think of these tactics? Are they simply to strong and can evolve by renaming and rebranding or dividing their company into smaller pieces? ..the tactic would work..of course it would...it always has. It was a boycott that got rid of segregated busing in the American south...it was another boycott that ended Apartheid in South Africa...it also broke the back of the British in India...it`s the strongest tool there is..and the least violent, at least on the side of those who call for a boycott...but it takes a great deal of desire and determination..and if the American people ever found that sort of resolve, they`d change their voting laws to make elections freer and fairer..and maybe that would fix the corporations in time...the people have to first of all SEE and then understand the nature of the problem..which is hard to bring to light now that the newspapers have been bought up and put to the service of the very corporations you mention..to drum up sales and spread fear and ignorance. ..the good thing about boycotts is that the very idea scares the shit out of money people who all know they live or die by slim margins of profit..unless they`re in the oily war business...but the rest, while they take in billions, also have to lay out billions, so that any sizeable boycot or the threat of one, strikes at the very core of what they live for...remember, these are not the days when a family owned a business or corporation and had some sense of personal pride in their products that might make them carry on for the sake of pride or whatever...these are days when corporations are run by sharks who need ever more and more pennies...because the pennies add up...and they`re not about to stay in business if the profit doesn`t grow each year...they`s rather junk bond the business and seel off its assets to make a quick buck..then move on. But you could start with ten people who let the corporation know of their plans and also why they are doing what they are doing and what it will take to have them back off....we don`t want them to go broke...we can`t even ask them to not make weapons...what we CAN ask and should have demanded long ago is that they get out of politics completely...that`s right, completely. We need money reform badly...where it impinges on elections and therefore setting policy...that`s all we want them to do..make their money HONESTLY and not by buying up our representatives to alter laws so they can buy up all news outlets and begin to disinform us, for only one example...just fairness...that`s all. --------------------- |
