I grew up in the burbs of Chicago. I remember those colors, and what comes after the falling leaves, and yet still no place like Chi town.

My favorite pizza in the whole wide world used to be Uptown, at LAURIE'S on Broadway. I'd drive all the way from Morton Grove to get a Laurie's Pizza. There was an old Assyrian man who worked there and he would always bring me those small hot peppers to go with my pizza.

Another place I miss is Blue Chicago, my favorite Blues club.
