I know a successful Chaldean woman who owns a local art gallery. She once told me that her best clients were from the Jewish community, who appreciate art, and who may be smart enough to not over pay for something, but who are classy enough to not try to bleed the art dealer dry (as the saying goes 'plitla min pawkee'), either out of respect for the artist, or out of respect for the fact that the art dealer also has to make a living. She then followed by saying that the Chaldean clients are the only ones that have ever actually brought her to tears with their ridiculous expectations, last-minute surprises, and other shenanigans. This is just one example of many that I can give. I'd say 10% of my clientele is Chaldean, however they are the ones who have been weeded out of a group that I generally refuse to do business with out of fear that it would adversely impact my ability to stay in business. I don't believe in ethnic marketing. --------------------- |
