Well then, we had best define what our "dreams" are first, don't you think?

If we are just "dreaming" of an Assyria, then we don't have much to talk about, do we?

But if we WANT an "Assyria" then we are really just dreaming, aren't we? because Assyria is now Kurdistan, and there's nothing you and I or even Qatena Gabbara can do about it.

Therefore, all is left to do now is to form an "Assyrian region", IF WE WANT ONE, and no one is stopping us from doing that, except ourselves. Article 53C in the new Iraqi constitution says “any group of no more than three governorates OUTSIDE OF KURDISTAN”, with the exception of Baghdad and Kirkuk, shall have the right to form regions from amongst themselves.”

So what are Assyrians waiting for? And who do you blame if the Assyrians in Iraq don't want to form these regions? The Kurds? The Sunni? The Shiaa?

We must stop blaming everyone else but ourselves! We must stop hating everyone because we think THEY are not giving us what we demand.

Who gave the Kurds anything? They fought for Kurdistan, inch by inch, until they took it all, PERIOD!

It is time to swallow our pride, take responsibility for our own actions/lack of actions, and our inabilities to keep what we had.

Let all these Assyrian churches, organizations, and gabbas go to Northern Iraq and form their own region. Who is stopping them?

The truth is, even if Assyria is given to us on a silver platter, we would not take it because of our own fears:

1-Who will leave this luxurious and lavish hotel to go to to live in Nineweh plains?
2-Who will defend Assyria if we are "Christian" first and foremost and we must turn the other cheek when the sword comes to our neck, and we can't pick up the sword and fight back to defend our country?
3-Which Assyrian wants to wear the soldier's uniform and carry a weapon and enlist in the Assyrian army and go without pay, without food?
3-Will our church leaders give up their money and power, and go to live in the plains of Nineveh, where the closest thing to a bathroom is an out-house?
4-Is there a single Assyrian gabba who is willing to put their false pride and shouhara bateela aside and work selflessly for Assyrians? NO!!! NOT if there's no money in it for them!

Let's stop fooling ourselves, please, because we surely are fooling no one else!
