Our ASSYRIAN nationalism is the most advanced and deep rooted than all the SEMITES people. I don't need Gellner or others to show me what to do , and the Assyrians didn't adopt ASSYRIANISM , because of the DISCOVERY of NINEVEH, we knew that we WERE Assyrians and our Christian Fathers just to name a few Mar Mari, Mar Abdisho of Nsibin, Malpana Gewarges Warda of Erbil and others hundreds OF years ago said and were PROUD ASSYRIANS.

Furthermore, YES we were influenced by the WEST to revive that ASSYRIAN nation and nationalism because of two factors:

1 - Our people became Christians and were devoted Christians and never bothered themselves with the EARTHLY matters, so they were SORAYEE/CHRISTIANS and
2 - They were illiterate people because of lack of knowledge due to the INVADERS who devastated our land starting from the Persians, the Arabs and the Turks. Our people were having the first UNIVERSITY in Nsibin and second one in Edessa which were closed because of the harassment of the above invaders.
