..first off the Dems would need to bolster their numbers in Congress or it couldnŽt work. Also the Repubs are famous for whining about being picked on...they tried for a year or more to impeach Clinton...and he smiled at them and tweaked them some more...they tried for almost EIGHT years to get him or Hillary on Whitewater...even went as far as jailing a friend of his to get her to lie...and they found not a single goddamned thing....so if an impeachment ever came down against Bush...youŽd see some awful crying and a whole lot of begging for redemtion a-la-Jimmy Swaggert. These people are not only undignified when they do the thing...but get worse when caught at it. Just give DeLay some time...heŽll be crying too. Nixon was never impeached...he saw the handwriting...also that there was a good chance heŽd be found guilty after being impeached...and no one wanted to hear ALL the things heŽd done...so they made a deal...heŽd quit and avoid impeachment...and Ford would pardon him...course it begs the question when you get pardoned BEFORE being found guilty first...sort of settled NixonŽs case for good. --------------------- |
