>I don't know if this is necessarily the case. Some religious folks are so content with their blissfully ignorant lives that they are actually healthier (perhaps not mentally) than the rest of us. Imagine: going through life with the belief that you know it all...you know how the world was formed, what happens when you die, and where you go thereafter. No need to stress about anything, just tell yourself "Let gatt (God) decide" and accept everything that happens. Ignorance is bliss but is NOT on the forefront for survival. When we take it down to the bare minimum, faith isn't needed for survival. It wasn't needed then either. Faith is like that expensive vase on your dinning room table, it's nice to have but it doesn't feed your family. Though some people swear by it. Oh Well. Back then, procreation meant survival. Today, thinking means survival. Those who don't think don't survive. At least in the long run. --------------------- |
