Website title: Square Moon Diary of Emil Keliane

Fantastic stuff!
And Maggie you're so right about writing down one's own/family history, experience, and memories being a pathway to recovery. I know that we have quite an oral history, which is precious and colorful, and I can't help but feel- I'm sure as most of us do- that this is slipping away far faster than our "language".
I hope we write it down, preserve them, catalogue our oral accounts.
I think we're still close enough to the experience to do it justice.
As Kris mentioned- I think it was Kris- there are so many acts of courage depicted in our past, things we just aren't in touch with as immediately as we could be- say through an anthology.
And what's this about the "Cousins Diary"? Ado, why "nah"?
And Farid, wow, again! I LOVE the imagery of your father's story- the Arabian running for hours, crashing into the mud wall, early Kuwait looking like an abandoned fort out of a forgotten fantasy novel, your mother receiving false news that your father was dead, twice! soldiers, tents, your father telling jokes to the nurses at the hospital, etc. etc. etc.
Where will these stories go if we do not capture them? Surely they will be lost. Surely no one else is going to stumble upon them in the trenches of their mind and bring them to the paper, to print!
Can you please at least think about the anthology? There's no money in writing anthologies- this would be for a result far greater and more profound than financial gain as you well know...
And if not the anthology- at least something we can pass down through the generations. Something more tangible. A diary of sorts?
