I think it will take a long time (well beyond either of our lifetimes) to know the last Assyrian. Ishi's predicament was very unique in so many ways. And by the time we are down to the last Assyrian, the world will most definitely take notice. But we will have all the archives of Sargon Dadesho's satellite tv channel and now also the Ishtar TV and all the other community cable shows... Anybody remember the Margoulis' show on Bay Area community tv? It always featured the wife lip-synching to an original song... They were great, don't know what ever happened to them. I don't even recall if I'm naming them correctly. Perhaps we should breed Assyrians... The Assyrian churches should start a breeding campaign, pressuring Assyrian couples to have a minimum of 4 children... If every Assyrian couple had (at a minimum) 4 children we would exponentially multiple within one generation. But how are we going to get Tyaris to mate with Qochasnayis or (the more daunting task) of any eastern rite assyrian with a chaldean... Oy oy! Mara d'reesha shooreila, I say. --------------------- |
