He's saying that the AANF is now ruined? Hah...the Federation has been in the gutter for years now. Farid was right...it wasn't long before all the real intellectuals and artists were chased away and were replaced by money-hungry theives.

Here's my two cents...the whole purpose of a "convention" is to - that's right, convene. In the dictionary and in its real-life usage, the act of convening refers to coming together and reaching an agreement. The purpose of these "Assyrian" conventions was to raise questions about the status of Assyrians in today's world and to attempt to answer those questions. One of their ultimate goals was raising money.

Now here's the thing, these conventions that occur in the way they do now defeat the purpose of raising money. Do you know that as a result of these conventions, Assyrians waste roughly 2 million US dollars altogether? And did you know that the cut the heads of these conventions get (as a result of bringing business to the hotels) is usually 5-10%. Altogether, with the profit the Federation makes (net, meaning after paying for damages that our crazy Assyrians cause) comes out to around let's say $150,000. Tell me, is that not stupid or what? If part of the point was to send money back home why couldn't we just create a method of sending that money back home. What's the point of wasting around $2 million dollars just so that the Federation gets around 5-10% of that and who knows what happens to it???
