For whatever Saddam's inhumane regime I prefer him over this delusion of Democracy and Liberation that the U.S. is pushing on the new interim government. The stakes are just as everything else around, I am sure people had very odd and many still do about Iran's revolution. Some believed it was U.S. and Brits job, and some believed it was poor,peasants, workers,left bourgeoisie-liberals, religious left, and... that supported the revolution. If one reads again Iraq history since independence of early 30's will see Iraq has gone through so many turmoils, regime changes, mass killings, Kurdish autonomy, Shia south, and on and on and the only element that always pulled for united Iraq was military and as we all Paul Bremmer II-CPA the first thing he did was desolving the military. That by itself is and was the sign for breaking up Iraq. It seems to me everything is ready for break up and this constitution will seal it. As I showed in one of my copy/paste fever U.S. there are 18 very important issues that haven't been dealt and they wanted to deal with them in later time just to make the August's deadline. So, what the people goin to vote on just an empty piece of paper. Just imagine the framers of our country used the same logic when they proclaimed adopted the u.s. constitution. Did they vote on an empty piece of paper? it just doesn't make sense. I see the future for Iraq not so bright as you do and I wish you are right. I don't want another civil war in our names this time in our beloved Iraq. --------------------- |
