...the first excavations in Mesopotamia antedate your grandfather and the Civil War...besides which the name Ashur appears in the bible as well. Adad likewise is a common name among Christians...the point is still valid....for the most part there was no such thing as "Assyrian pride"...not untill Europeans jumped in and took an interest in us...and that still holds true...I can make all the sculpture I want...but until I`m "discovered" by white people...I might as well marry Ashur Beth-Shlimon.
