What you are saying is VERY true, IF it was NOT called the ASSYRIAN AIDS SOCIETY, and the money was being raised for ALL Assyrian needy. However, that is NOT the case, is it? It goes to Zowaa only and they do with it as they see fit. That is the difference. For example, the telethon that is conducted to raise funds for KBSV is called AssyriaSAT telethon and people know this is specifically to raise funds for AssyriaSat, which means people who are donating KNOW they are pledging for KBSV. That is the distinction. Moreover, if a man like Narsai is going to lend his name to a society that specifically is called "ASSYRIAN", then shouldn't he question the fact why ALL the money goes to ONE organization, which is only ONE part of Assyria? Additionally, WHY would he ALLOW Zowaa affiliates like Jackie and her Zowaa cronies to call the shots? Why not tell them, Assyrian Aids Society is BIGGER than just her and her Zowaa, and since this is a fund-raiser for ALL needy Assyrians, (if it really was) in which case she can't control what AIDS does and who gets to donate the sculptures? We must stop the eliticism going on in our society, no matter WHO is doing it and no matter WHAT! It divides our community into party lines, and THAT is my point!! --------------------- |
