Just the other day my friend said "Let's go to lunch... at Fuddrucker's" I protested: "Fuddruckers is a national chain. I don't eat at large corporation restaurants". He replied "But it is a franchise, and this franchise is owned by Chaldeans". (My family happens to know them as well) In the end, I told him that even if he paid for the meal, I wouldn't go, so we ended up going to a family owned restaurant, which is owned by individuals and not by "the public stockholders" or some WASPS in Iowa who buy their food from big agribusiness that destroys the environment, etc. etc. I can go on and on. We had a very very very delicious meal and I decided about a year or two ago that my money will no longer support uber large business. I only buy my gas at CITGO (since it is owned by the Venezuelan Gov't), and I refuse to spend any money at large resturant chains...or many large chains of any kind except for rare exceptions. ...and that's my pretentious two cents. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS AND LOCAL BUSINESS ......................./ pancho wrote: >...all this bluster directed at Iran, for the purpose of distracting American voters has two possible outcomes. > >1. Finally open your eyes and vote these crazy bastards out of office...even though you know the Democrats are just a wing of the Republican party. > >Enjoy the vote...it is meaningless, though they won't like it if you realize that. Economic boycott is the only power the American people have...just the poor people ALONE could ruin any corporation they chose to. THAT'S "democracy" in a corporate age. --------------------- |
