..and there must NEVER be! Just as there is no law against being a sharp car salesman...so long as the salesman doesn't break a law in misrepresenting the product, he should be free to try to FOOL the customer as much as he pleases, there should never be a law against FOOLING people...makes for a more interesting world...we should not protect people from their own folly too much...who's to say when we might be wrong?

Society CAN NOT establish laws for every "criminal" or "evil" thought out there, even though this criminal or evil thought may actually be nurtured, ripened and deployed at any given moment.

...whoa there! No one wants THOUGHT POLICE! Of course we can establish laws for every crime...we have several now that just about cover the field...but THOUGHTS are your own business...not until they cross over into illegal ACTS should a society get involved. There is no GOOD tyranny.


That's why philosophers, sociologists, and other great thinkers purport, "it is a miracle that there is some order out of this chaos."


...yes and they all prefer to leave it at that, a miracle...not a one of them wants to impose thought control!

Science calls it evolution, or adaptation, gurus call it Yogic, etc., but it is out of all this that we are still able to elevate ourselves to a higher level. Without it, we couldn't!!

...we get no higher up by controlling thought...or punishing it. What YOU don't like can't be the basis for a law anywhere...and certainly not for extra-legal steps taken by you to deal with what YOU perceive as evil...I can't PROVE you're worng for pointing the evil finger at somebody, but I sure as hell can prove that person is innocent of a CRIME...we have a much better chance at freedom and growth if we leave humans free until they break the laws we decide we need to ensure maximum protection for all...realizing all the time that we can NEVER make it complete and binding everywhere at all times...life MUST be risky to be life!

..I agree...the onus is on US to deal with the anus among us...the jerk and asshole will always be there and MUST! Keeps the rest of us honest if nothing else...obviously Nimrod is made of mucous...all the more interesting, therefor, to contemplate how easily such a mushface blocked the "pride" of the Assrian peepils!!!

There are facsitic tendencies in all of us, just some of us are more extreme than others about the way we deal with those whom WE do not like or understand, and some of us more tolerant.

...I'm very tolerant...up to and including the moment I run someone over...I understand perfectly that person's problems and perspective...but choose to show my displeasure anyway...but I can sit down and quaff a beer with the guy right after, if he lives...I have no hatred for Nimrod or Bejan...they played their part as I played mine..it's the REST of us who haven't weighed in yet.

...you are confusing the hell out of me. This discussion is getting evil. Disliking gods or messiahs is NOT a crime...not any longer. And I'd just as soon leave Evil out of it entirely...or we'll be back burning people for it when they broke NO laws...except to do that which other people considered "EVIL". I don't want to see those days again.
