>So I say no, being Assyrian is not stagnating in what we WERE 3000 years ago, but people makign what we ARE and have been recently like the authors Aprim, Malek, Donabed and others I have read... to ME, they are the REAL Assyrians representing...

..of course they are...because there is no standard for anything in your Assria. They can "write" whatever "books" they want...and then PRINT, not "publish them, themselves...and who will say no to them...besides those who DO have some standrads..it's no different than the gaggle of priests you all follow..or these dime store leeders...each of them has a following..and each following dislikes the other group and their leeder...so Aprim writes a book...he pays to print it himself because it really isn't a legitimate book any publisher would touch because Aprim knows nothing but HIS personal prejudices...and you and the others who like Aprim, not because he is wise or thoughtful or well estmmed anywhere outside of YOUR circle...will follow him and thank him and gush all over him...this is mere tribal history...a record of the myths of YOUR tribe...which are not adhered to by other tribes.

...for me to have been that kind of sculptor, I would have made whatever I wanted...shown it at the Civic Club's tribal watering hole or at the campfire of Dadeeshoos tribe...or any of the other tribal centers and I would have been called a Great Assyrian AND a great artist AND a great sculptor AND a great genius and the rest of it...and it would have meant absolutely nothing outside of the tribe.

Aprim and these others you mention are merely stroking your balls...for which you are greatful...but they are NOT professional writers or historians in any way shape or form. To be a professional doesn't mean you have to be good at what you do, necessarily..or that you are liked...it simply means you earn your LIVING from what you do...you can make beautiful wood designs....and they may be way too beautiful and weird for people to want to buy...and so you support yourself by being an accountant...therefore you are NOT a professional woodworker but a professional accountant...if you make good wood designs and people buy them and enough so that you can make your entire living from the sale of these items..then you ARE a professional. That's all it means and that's all I meant..and THAT is what this Assria of your's is suffering from...ditzy definitions of these sorts of concepts, taken from Hanna's Dictionary, no doubt.

What I meant was that I EARN my income, such as it is now and for the last 20 years by making Assyrian, not Christian, sculpture and selling it...finding enough customers to make THAT my profession....Aprim has not done that and never will...neither have the others you mentioned and THEY never will...and all because their focus is too narrow,,,,because they recirculate tired old myths that no one outside their small circle is interested in.

These people you mention would have to submit their writing for PEER REVIEW and also for review by recognized experts in the field..and don't tell me about Parpola because he is NOT an expert in the field Aprim wallows in but was rather giving a learning challenged fellow a pat on the head as if to say, "where's the harm...where will this book EVER go"? We are used to being patronized and I don't like it...the last one to try it suffered badly for it.

When I finished the monument I wanted to make I didn't take it to any tribe for their approval...I took it to where the toughest critics of ALL contemporary art are...especially if you want to place your work in the public domain...on spots of land that you couldn't BUY or rent...and can only get..and for eternity too...if you are GOOD ENOUGH. Aprim didn't do that...he wrote what he wanted...said it was great all by hisself...tossed it into the tribal councils and saw how many tribal members agreed with him..this is NOT professional behavior...it is amateurish and it shows in every word he wrote and utters...same with the rest of them.

as those protecting and working for the Assyrians left in Assyria,

...and this shows perfectly why you don't understand simple concepts...you too are out on a wild goose chase for "Assyria" and can't even see that Assyria is long gone and Iraq has taken its place...also Kurdistan, with help from wetsern Christianity...so long as you all have mush for brains you're never going to understand much of what it takes to make any kind of case OUT THERE but will be forever dancing around whatever person, equally ditzy, who plays to your fantasies...that's why you are where you are...but, thankfully...your second and third generations in the west will drop this nonsense quickly...without losing interest in their true heritage...and we'll get some more professional people who will make their dedicated LIVING from being Assyrian and not playing on weekends...as you all do.

those who keep our culture going through our language, dance, music, religion (and the past 2000 years of religion is just as important as the 1000 years of religion prior to it.. they are BOTH Assyrian for Assyrians lived and survived in it).
>
>Rant done!

...no it isn't. You're stuck like a bad record...same old same old...you don't understand a word spoken to you that is sensible...alas....and one more thing....Assyrians were NEVER afraid to face anyone...not till you turned into a Jew...a bad imitation at that for Jews LOVE to confront one another and hash things through...but your arguments and beliefs are so paper-thin...like a terribly thin veneer of hardwood covering spongy pulp that at the slightest abrasion or conflict...all your hardness and "Assyrian" covering gets scratched right off...and your soft Jewish underbelly is exposed to the raw elements...and you crumble and fade...you are not the real thing.
