The best thing to do would be to get a team of people there who could take detailed digital photographs and get detailed descriptions of each piece, which would be immediately uploaded to an Internet site for the world to see. This way, even if the US tried again to encourage the destruction of the artifacts, they would be preserved at least in one form...digitally.
