I wanted to enter into the conversation w/ a little story. a few days ago, a Republican cousin said that Bush's war made sense regardless of how many have died in the last decade. why? Because if we (the U.S., Bush) did not go and remove Saddam Hussein and company, then those Muslims would come to america in the next 100 years and take over our country. Deranged and deluded: the insanity of the war machinery is beyond comprehension. Those who justify war aggressions and violence are the same pro-life, abortion obsessed folks who say we should do no harm to unborn fetuses. 1. War does not fit the logic of an allegedly PRO-LIFE paradigm yet our community voted for a PRO-WAR president. 2. Removing Saddam's regime should not mean using Depleted Uranium and other inhumane weaponry/tactics. We, yes Americans, are responsible for the death of over ONE million Iraqis and many, most, of those people are children. 3. the Christian logic is that Christian life matters and Muslim life is less valuable. how is this Christian? Catholic? humane? decent? logical? normal? We are not GOD to decide who lives or who dies!! yet, Chaldeans, Assyrians, and others of the 'faith' speak w/ such authority about what should or should not be done. they speak w/ arrogance and confidence about supporting the slaughter of Iraqi children. Do these children not count because they are Muslim children??? I really would love to hear from those religious right wingers. how do they sleep at night? how do they justify their PRO-War, pro-slaughter stances? --------------------- |
